Make calls without interference
In today’s mobile world, it is almost taken for granted that we are contactable at all times. However, interference-free reception inside tunnels is not yet possible. The Swiss railway companies are currently making major efforts to enable uninterrupted reception inside tunnels for their passengers – and TS 8 Top enclosure systems from Rittal are major contributors to this endeavour.
Comlab and Rittal - and the connection is made
If you have ever tried to make a call inside a railway tunnel and found that the connection works, chances are that technology from the Swiss firm Comlab is involved. Comlab project plans, develops, tests, manufactures and assembles transmitter and amplifier systems to ensure reception for the various telecommunications networks, even inside tunnels. In a project by the national Swiss railway SBB, special TS 8 enclosures from Rittal protect the Comlab amplifier systems and transmitters against the tough ambient conditions prevailing in railway tunnels.
Each individual device is monitored from the company headquarters in Ittigen to ensure proper functioning. In case of malfunctions, there is a direct link to the tunnel.
