Synchro Engineering Limited: Enclosure project completed in record time
Strategically located in the Niagara Region of Ontario, Canada, Synchro Engineering Ltd. is a specialist for power systems, energy management and green energy in this region, and has expanded its portfolio to include panel building and switchgear engineering since 2006. Originally, Synchro Engineering Ltd were looking at a custom solution to house their cable machinery leaving the centre of the switchgear open for cable management. To that end, Synchro placed on order with its Canadian Rittal Partner Proax Technologies, a leading technical automation distributor. Proax Technologies, in turn, approached Rittal Systems Ltd. Canada, as they knew they had a Modification Centre located in Mississauga with a Perforex machining centre.
“Synchro remains dedicated in providing reliable solutions to their client’s specific electrical engineering, and contracting requirements. It was a pleasure working with Proax and Rittal who responded to our needs with an excellent solution, and delivered within our short timelines!”
Dan Michitsch, Vice President, Synchro Engineering Limited
Massive time savings and cost-effectiveness
Proax Technologies and Rittal immediately began to implement the project and worked out a solution comprising bayed TS 8 large enclosure systems from Rittal. The system was processed, using a Perforex machining centre, which can reduce the enclosure manufacturing process from ten hours to 90 minutes. This machining centre not only delivers time savings but also increased accuracy and reduced waste with its CNC precision-capabilities. The Perforex unit calls upon up to 20 tools in the magazine for operations. What’s more, since programming is faster than manual marking, the system is economically advantageous from a batch size of one.
Space-saving bayed suite with TS 8
Rittal’s technical service department provided the drawings to Synchro Engineering Limited and the team worked together day and night to implement the drawings and complete the project. The solution fully satisfied the client’s requirements as the bayed TS 8 suite provides adequate space for housing, accessing and managing the cabling through the centre of the switchgear.
