Mark of conformity

Large numbers of Rittal products have internationally recognised approvals. Below, we provide a brief overview of the approval symbols and their meanings.

  • UL – Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (USA) Recognition Mark

    For US-tested and approved products (e.g. Rittal cooling and climate control units etc.).

  • CUL – Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (USA) Recognition Mark

    For Canada-tested and approved products (e.g. Rittal cooling and climate control units etc.).

  • CUL/UL – Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (USA) Recognition Mark

    Combination mark – Products that have been tested and approved for both the USA and Canada

  • CUL – Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (USA) Listed Mark

    Products tested and approved for Canda

  • CUL – Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (USA) Listed Mark

    Products tested and approved for Canda

  • CUL/UL – Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (USA) Listed Components

    Combination mark – Products that have been tested and approved for both the USA and Canada

  • CSA – Canadian Standards Association (Canada)

    For Canada-tested and approved products (e.g. Rittal enclosures).

    Mark of conformity for structural elements (Rittal enclosures, for example, are tested and certified by VDE as type-tested empty enclosures)

    EMC – Mark of conformity (e.g. Rittal RF enclosures)

  • TÜV – Technischer Überwachungsverein

    Mark of conformity for the product service (Rittal enclosures are tested and certified by VDE as type-tested empty enclosures)

  • TÜV NORD GS – Geprüfte Sicherheit (tested safety)

    This mark of conformity is only valid in conjunction with the test agency's symbol (e.g. RWTÜV-GS; VDE-GS etc.).

  • TÜV NORD – Baumuster geprüft (prototype-tested)

  • EX – Symbol for operating equipment with cert. from a testing agency

    Rittal EX enclosures are approved by PTB in Braunschweig. PTB certification is recognised by all CENELEC Member States.

  • GL – Germanischer Lloyd (Germany)

    Label verifying that a product complies with EU safety requirements.

  • IECEE / IECEE CB Scheme

    The IECEE is the IEC System of Conformity Assessment Schemes for Electrotechnical Equipment and Components being a body of the International Electrotechnical Commission. The IEC uses the name IECEE for the IEC System for Conformity Testing and Certification of Electrotechnical Equipment and Components that is better known as the CB System. The IEC CB Scheme is multilateral agreement to allow international certification of electrical and electronic products so that a single certification allows worldwide market access.

  • CCC – China Compulsory Certification

    The China Compulsory Certificate mark, commonly known as a CCC Mark, is a compulsory safety mark for many products imported, sold or used in the Chinese market. It was implemented on May 1, 2002 and became fully effective on August 1, 2003.
