“The new Blue e+ chillers consume more than 50% less power than the old recooling units. For enclosure cooling units, the savings are even higher (more than 80%). Over the course of a year, this translates into savings of up to 7,000 kWh, depending on the capacity utilisation level of the CNC machine” says Leo Pototzky (GoGreen Project Manager at Bosch Rexroth), who was impressed by the results of the upgrade. “This example illustrates just how big the potential still is in many areas”.

“In our direct comparison of the new Blue e+ chiller with a hot gas bypass unit, the EER increased from 2.62 to 4.49. In percentage terms, this equates to an impressive 71.37%. Over an operating period of 5,000 h, the energy savings are more than 2,400 kWh, or €410 in monetary terms.”
