- This add-on unit to the DET AC III Master includes an additional extinguisher unit. In addition to the DET-AC III unit, a DET-AC III slave unit is used for each additional bayed enclosure and supplies the extinguishing agent for that enclosure. Detection occurs via the DET-AC III master system, even when multiple enclosures are bayed together. If a main alarm is reported, the DET-AC III Master will activate extinguishing in all systems simultaneously.

DET-AC III Slave extinguisher system (add-on unit)
Add-on unit for expansion of an existing master system (fire alarm and
extinguisher system or early fire detection system).
The compact system occupies 1 U of rack space and is designed for
installation in the 19" level of closed server enclosure systems. It
enables extinguishing for up to 5 bayed enclosures. To be able to
activate an add-on unit, networking with a compatible master system
(fire alarm and extinguisher system or early fire detection system) is
necessary!
The master system provides for monitoring of the enclosures and sends
corresponding control signals to its add-on unit(s) to activate the
extinguishing process in case of a fire. Operation and indication of the
current system status are by way of the master system.
The extinguishing agent used is FK 5-1-12, which is held in liquid form
in the tank. When extinguishing is activated, the tank is pressurised.
The extinguishing agent vaporises at the nozzle and spreads through the
protected space.
The extinguishing nozzle is located in the front panel of the unit.
The frame for installation of the extinguishing system is designed as a
19" rack module. The depth of the system is such that it can be
installed in 19" server enclosures with an internal depth > 800 mm.
The pre-assembled system can be inserted or removed without interrupting
operation of the equipment to be protected.
Up to 5 server enclosures can be monitored and extinguished.
The fire alarm and extinguisher system can be networked with up to 4
add-on units.
The early fire detection system can be networked with up to 5 add-on
units.
The commissioning must be carried out by Rittal.
