THE CHOICE IS YOURS: ONE RACK, 13 OPTIONS

Reduced dimension, with or without interior installation

As a fitter or service technician, do you need to install your IT infrastructure so that it is readily accessible from all sides, but a confined space or low ceiling height makes this difficult? Need an IT rack without an over-sized depth or width because saving space is more of a priority and your network distributor requirements are limited to smaller electronic equipment? If so, the new TX CableNet rack 600 mm wide and deep and which is 1.200 mm in height is perfect for your rquirement. Opting for a smaller enclosure can also make sense if you are not planning full capacity utilisation of a 42 U rack, for example. If only a small or less than the full amount of internal space is utilised, unused height units would then require an additional cover to prevent uneven air circulation in the rack.

TX CableNet with glazed door and side panels

Need a quick view of all components inside the network distributor? If you have chosen a rack with a glazed door for this reason, then you should also give some thought to the active components and the cable management inside as it is equally important to ensure adequate ventilation of these elements. With this in mind, the CableNet allows for a fan mounting plate to be retro-fitted in the roof should, for example, additional equipment be added retroperspectively. In this case, the fan mounting plate replaces the covered roof cut-out provided for this purpose. If a ventilated base/plinth is also fitted, efficient airflow is achieved in the rack. Room and ambient temperatures of up to 30 °C are possible. Cold air can flow into the rack from below, absorbing the hot air from the rack, and can then be released back into the environment via the fan mounting plate.

TX CableNet with vented door and side panels

Do you belive that door design in your IT rack is more than just a visual aspect but a key element of your climate control solution? We know that when it comes to choosing a door, the intended purpose and your individual application are important considerations. If you need the door to contribute to the IT rack's climate control, the ventilation-optimised variant is the ideal choice. With a 78% perforated surface, it is particularly ideal for installing active network components and cooling them from the outside where room air-conditioning is provided. IT is beneficial to use active components which can independently draw in cold air from the perforated front door and emit it out of the back via the perforated rear door. Once again, the front-to-back air routing customary in IT comes into its own here. Room and ambient temperatures of up to 30 °C are adequate for this purpose. If the active components do not have independent air intake, we recommend using an IT rack with perforated door for your IT cable management.

TX CableNet without side panels

Planning to bay rather than use stand-alone racks? The TX CableNet range is available with side panels as standard. However, options without side panels are also available in the TX CableNet range for baying. Even if your plans change at a later date and you switch to stand-alone racks, you will not be at a disadvantage. Simply order the side panels later on if required, and benefit from the extensive range of matching TX CableNet accessories. Our recommendation: Only choose options without side panels if using a solid roof plate and solid door. Installation of a roof-mounted fan or perforated door is not advisable, as otherwise targeted air routing in the rack is not possible. The roof-mounted fan draws in ambient air in an uncontrolled manner, so the typical air circulation required for IT equipment is not available

TX CableNet conversion tool

We want to make it as convenient as possible for you to switch from the tried-and-trusted Rittal TE 8000 to its new and improved successor, the TX CableNet. With 13 options, including new sizes with space-optimised heights and depths tailored even more effectively to your future requirements, the TX CableNet maintains the tried-and-tested quality of its predecessor, while at the same time setting new standards.

What does the conversion tool do? Search for the Model Numbers of TE network racks and get a list of alternative racks with similar dimensions – if indeed you want to use exactly the same sizes. In some cases, VX IT will also be displayed here. Please check whether the recommendation is suitable for you and your application. You may well find that the brand new size variants of the TX CableNet are even more beneficial. Please note that previously installed accessories may deviate from this. You complete the conversion by creating and downloading a wish. Register or alternatively, please contact your local ASM or customer service team.

Application scenarios

HEALTHCARE - WELL CARED-FOR

The TX CableNet is ideal as a conventional network distributor. The new type of cable entry above the roof - based on the "waterfall" concept - allows for the critical bending radii of copper and fibre-optic cables and makes inserting and clamping even large volumes of cable simple. As part of the climate control concept, vented doors support a mix of active and passive network equipment, such as switches for grouping and distributing data. The cold air from the surrounding office air-conditioning system easily reaches the active components via the perforated front and rear doors. All relevant rack parameters are easily monitored from a Web browser with a CMC III monitoring system or smart power distribution units (PDUs) that can be extended with, for example, sensors. The connection to a building or IT infrastructure even in very large properties and buildings such as those found in the healthcare sector - for example, hospitals, clinics or other medical care facilities.

TELCO - CABLE MANAGEMENT MADE EASY

As well as supporting the "waterfall" concept with user-friendly cable entry from above, the TX CableNet is also equally suitable for office environments with a raised floor. Cables are simply inserted from underneath the rack. In this sample application, the cables of all IT components such as PCs, telephones or printers are routed to the patch panels, grouped together via a switch, and forwarded to a central server. The glazed door of the TX CableNet provides a clear view of the rack interior at all times, enabling complete control of all components. Climate control is equally straightforward and reliable - the cold air from the surrounding office air-conditioning system easily reaches the active components via the perforated front and rear doors. These doors can be easily and safely cooled optionally via a retrofittable fan mounting plate in the roof panel prepared for this purpose. Additional security is provided by the optionally installed AX comfort handle with security lock to guard against unauthorised access.
