The organic sector is growing at an impressive pace. Coesfeld-based organics wholesaler Weiling has benefited from this upwards trend and currently supplies over 1,200 customers with more than 11,000 products. To handle logistics on this scale, the wholesaler needed a new, stable IT infrastructure.
The company opted for the modular and standardised RiMatrix S data centre solution from Rittal. Since the goods logistics for all the sites are managed centrally, it would be a catastrophe if the IT infrastructure were to fail. RiMatrix S offers Weiling a high safety standard that has been tested by the safety experts at TÜV and also features fire, burglary and leakage protection, built-in design redundancy and an uninterruptible power supply.
Since the premises in Coesfeld are to be extended further in the future, Weiling was looking for a modular data centre solution that offered flexibility for future expansion. Equally important was the option of adapting the cooling system to the local environment. Due to the very dusty conditions in the agricultural region, indirect, free cooling was necessary. Unlike data centres that are planned entirely to custom specifications, RiMatrix S boasts standardised components and can therefore often be up and running after just six weeks. Thanks to a fixed performance package and defined delivery times and costs, Weiling was able to optimise its planning in terms of time and cost management.
