- Installation and maintenance: DIN EN ISO 12944 refers to corrosion protection for steel structures (e.g. containers and bridges) and is thus only indirectly applicable to enclosures. The test criteria defined in this standard were nevertheless applied to the paint finishes of the C4-H enclosures. Our “paint finish equivalent to C4-H” thus satisfies all requirements of the standard in respect of the 720-hour salt spray mist test. Even so, corrosion can still occur on such sheet-steel enclosures. If the enclosure is installed in an environment where there is a risk of corrosion, the user must provide for regular maintenance and the prompt repairing of any paint damage. Depending on the application, the user may need to take suitable precautions as protection against environmental conditions at the place of installation, e.g. UV radiation.
