New wiring workstation

Rittal unveils new wiring workstation, the Wire Station 540

Ergonomic, modular and flexible – these are the defining features of the mobile wiring bench Wire Station 540 from Rittal. Workstations in panel building & switchgear manufacturing and in electrical workshops can be professionally equipped with this innovation, which is also suitable for mobile use. It is designed to make wire assembly and subsequent wiring processes inside the enclosure easier and more user-friendly. The modular system allows the wiring bench to be individually adapted to the wire assembly process. In conjunction with the fully automated Wire Terminal wire assembly station and the EPLAN Smart Wiring software tool, this represents a further step towards automation.

In panel building and switchgear manufacturing, component wiring is still the most labour-intensive process step. Even with automated wire assembly, for example with the Rittal Wire Terminal, wires are still installed manually in the enclosure or on the mounting plate. Moreover, cables with larger cross-sections must be manually assembled. The same applies when assembling connectors. Rittal is now launching the ergonomically designed Wire Station 540 workstation to make all these activities more productive and efficient.

Customisable

The Wire Station 540 workstation is based on a height-adjustable workbench for flexible adaptation to the size of the operator and the current task. The optional accessories include a powerful and dimmable LED light for homogeneous illumination of the workstation, socket strips, and a multi-functional monitor bracket. It is supplied with a drawer for storing essential tools together with cable reels, wire packs and storage trays. Furthermore, semi-automated wire assembly devices such as length-cutting, insulation stripping and crimping units are easily integrated. The wiring workstation can be ideally equipped for the task at hand thanks to the optional accessory modules.

A holder secures the wire rail magazines from the fully automated Wire Terminal to the workstation. If combined with an optionally attached monitor, this provides the ideal interface for using the EPLAN Smart Wiring software.

Working on wires with larger cross-sections and special wire end treatments is also efficient and straightforward with the wiring workstation.

Everything close at hand in the workshop

Thanks to its castors, the Wire Station is suitable for mobile use in the workshop. This ensures that the manually or fully automatically assembled wires, all tools and semi-automatic machines as well as additionally required materials are always close at hand. Time-consuming trips back and forth between the enclosure and the workbench are now a thing of the past. The Wire Station is the optimum interface between automated wire assembly and manual working directly on the enclosure.
