Social responsibility for local people and the local environment, as well as for our products, solutions and production, enjoys a long tradition at Rittal and the Friedhelm Loh Group. The owner and his family as well as the entire workforce live by these values, be it in the form of an annual charity donation at Christmas or special campaigns to raise funds for international aid agencies in times of crisis and disaster.
The Rittal Foundation is a key element of the company’s social commitment. The charitable foundation was set up in autumn 2011 by Professor Friedhelm Loh, owner and CEO of the Friedhelm Loh Group, to mark the company’s 50th anniversary. The Foundation is dedicated to promoting social affairs, education and culture.
As the largest employer in the central Hesse region, this is one way in which the company accepts responsibility for local people. By concentrating on projects in the immediate geographical vicinity of the company’s locations, it underlines its links with local people and our mission to help shape and improve social development in our environment.
Environmental protection a top priority in the realignment of our production sites. For exampl, the spray-finishing plant at the new Rittal factory in Haiger produces almost no waste water. What is more, waste heat from the plant is routed into the heating circuit for the production hall, which in turn significantly reduces our energy consumption.
