What is different about working with us?

A Group that has strong ties with the local region and a global player – for us, those two things are not mutually exclusive. As family-run businesses, the companies in the Friedhelm Loh Group have the traits of a mid-size company – and that also applies to their cooperation.

We want to build our success on sustainable foundations, which is why we are interested in building long-term relationships with our staff, customers and partners. Whether in Europe, Asia or America – we bring a great deal of commitment and enthusiasm to our collaboration on new and exciting projects. This creates an environment that offers a diverse range of opportunities and prospects, including intercultural collaboration.

  • Global player

More than half of the approximately 11,500 employees in our Group work outside Germany. Due to the global outlook of our customers and the sheer variety of industries involved, our activities are becoming increasingly international.

This creates an environment that offers a diverse range of opportunities and prospects, including in terms of intercultural collaboration. You will get to know new people, markets and cultures and lay the foundations for your own career – regardless of whether you are a trainee, student or professional.

  • Leading innovator

For over 50 years, we have been redefining the future. Our staff around the world work with a great deal of commitment and enthusiasm for technical progress, continuous growth and thus for a bright future. • Top employer

We are proud that in 2017 our Group was declared a “Top Employer Germany” for the ninth time in a row.

The Top Employers Institute certifies companies all around the world that continuously generate outstanding working conditions for their staff. Top Employer certification is conferred on companies that have proven they stand for a forward-looking approach to human resources, are constantly striving to improve the working environment and invest in their employees’ personal development.

  • The Loh Academy

As a Top Employer, the Friedhelm Loh Group has its own dedicated further training institute. The Loh Academy has been the central in-house provider of personal and skills development programmes in the Friedhelm Loh Group since 2002. Each year, around 4,000 employees take advantage of the customised training opportunities and expert forums that the Academy offers. Based on the motto “Knowledge – Ability – Action”, our broad-based portfolio of seminars offers our employees opportunities to further their qualifications and thus open up career opportunities.

We believe it is important to identify talented employees early on, nurture their development and boost their loyalty to the company. From classic seminars and development programmes through to e-learning, the overall portfolio is made up of modular components that can be combined to deliver a customised development solution for each employee. For example, you can discover your potential, develop your expertise and expand your horizons in the Opportunities Centre.

  • Work-life balance

We are interested in long-term working relationships and want you to enjoy taking on the tasks and challenges you will face. We understand that, for that to work, the conditions have to be right. That is why we have spent many years ensuring our employees can balance their career with their home life.

Our flexitime and job-sharing models give you freedom and flexibility. This helps us build bridges between business needs and our customers’ requirements on the one hand, and the personal needs and aspirations of our staff on the other. In certain cases we may also offer the opportunity for home working, for example.

  • Pay and voluntary social benefits

Besides offering commensurate pay, we also create optimum conditions for our employees’ working environment. That includes offering a whole range of voluntary social benefits.

Focused commitment from the workforce is essential to the success of the Friedhelm Loh Group. That is why our remuneration model also includes variable components such as employees sharing in the overall success of the Group.

  • Occupational health management

We all spend a big part of our life at work. Doesn’t it therefore make perfect sense that we should shape our working environment so that it actively helps us stay healthy?

As part of our occupational health management activities, we create the conditions that ensure our employees stay healthy in the workplace. Besides occupational health and safety and occupational integration management, our health management system also incorporates a whole range of measures designed to promote healthy working practices. This means we can help our staff make a great start back at work after an illness and even help them improve their health through targeted preventive measures.

  • Environment, responsibility and sustainability

Values such as corporate social responsibility have been a focus for the family-run Friedhelm Loh Group for more than 50 years. “We are aware of our responsibility to the environment and society in which we live. We want, therefore, to take part in shaping and improving it!” This fundamental company principle reflects our view that success brings with it responsibility. That is why we are committed to social projects, education and culture, for example.
