  • At the heart of the system is an AFE infeed unit with an output of 80 kW to supply DC current on the secondary circuit. In its basic configuration, the AFE is capable of supplying between 650 VDC and 840 VDC. The DC grid is earthed on the AC side, with the positive and negative conductors having polarity symmetrical to the earth. The AFE pre-charges the secondary circuit to avoid high starting currents.
  • This application sample will provide you with complete documentation for a DC grid, including a circuit diagram and a comprehensive list of the components and products from the various manufacturers included in this system, to use as the starting point for designing your own DC microgrid.
  • To meet the requirements of a test setup, additional specifications were submitted:
    • Operation of a three-phase B6 rectifier.
    • Operation of a variable transformer as the principal AC supply, so that the secondary circuit can be supplied with a minimum voltage of 400 VDC.
