Rittal took centre stage at Australia’s premiere IT Business Event, CeBIT launching the first ever standardised, certified modular data centre. RimatriX S, the new data centre concept represents a revolutionary alternative to individual data centre construction.
“The theory behind RimatriX S is simple…” said Rittal’s Managing Director, Peter Mellino.
“Why reinvent the wheel? Traditional data centres are similar in many aspects… Yet valuable time, finance and resources are spent creating elaborate, custom made concepts….
Rittal addresses this head on; RimatriX S is a standardised, certified, modular data centre enabling quick configuration, delivery and commissioning of your data centre.”
Government Ministers, C Level Executives, Data Centre Professionals from Australia wide gathered to see the official launch of the complete, fully functioning RimatriX S data centre.
„RimatriX S brings impressive cost, time and resource saving – a very impressive solution!“ said Premier, Barry O’Farrell during his visit.
Rittal played host to a number of VIPs during the CeBIT event. Minister for Broadband Communications & the Digital Economy, Senator Stephen Conroy was particularly interested in Rittal’s latest solution; „What a great concept; why reinvent the wheel when standardised data centres give significant time and cost saving.”
With uniform interfaces and continuous automation of key processes and components RimatriX S provides customers with;
- Cost saving via lower investment costs and energy efficiency – a PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) up to 1.15
- Fast delivery and commissioning; simple integration into new or existing rooms with hot /cold aisle containment OR installation in system tested security rooms OR as a flexible container solution
- Easy advice and decision making; Simple selection of required modules, fast integration in to existing supply infrastructure and complete ROI calculation.
- Peace of mind through test, quality verified components, precertification of data centre modules
„I can certainly see major advantages for small to medium sized businesses where IT Services may not have the right data centre infrastructure expertise.... RimatriX S is a complete certified data centre under one part number! Plus, the PUE of 1.15 is a true standout in the industry.“ Said Senator, Hon Kate Lundy.
Traditionally one-off solutions, data centres are often jointly and uniquely designed and implemented alongside the customer to meet specific needs.
While the same processes are undertaken, expansive, custom-made concepts still dominate. Company’s frequently spend unnecessary time, resource and budget on unique data centre design, implementation and operation. This is not only time-consuming, but also expensive.
“We want to fundamentally change the rules of the market with this worldwide novel approach to standardised data centres,” said Friedhelm Loh, Rittal’s owner and CEO.
Rittal’s RimatriX S allows for flexible retro fitting. „The concept is excellent.“ Said QLD Senator, the Hon George Brandis. „Clients can choose to place the data centre within a container, a secure data room or in a pre-existing premises.“
A time honoured partner, Rittal enjoys its fifth consecutive year at CeBIT Australia.
Honouring Rittal’s German heritage, guests celebrated Oktoberfest style enjoying Bavarian beer and refreshments served by the lovely fraulines.
Rittal is also showcasing the new Data Centre in a Box. Combining the new industry standard server rack – TS IT together with DX Cooling System, UPS, Fire Suppression and CMC monitoring system the solution represents an easy implementation for small business.
„Essentially this is a complete data centre offering within a single rack.“ Said Peter Mellino.
„Rittal continues to set new standards in IT innovation. We are constantly striving to translate market trend into products – to provide innovative strengths that enable your business to secure competitive advantages.
With this tenacious spirit, it is no wonder that Rittal share a strong partnership with Hannover Fairs... As Australasia’s premiere IT Business event, CeBIT Australia has formed the launch pad for Rittal’s IT innovation for several.“ Said Peter Mellino.
